Water beads (also known as Orbeez) are fun, versatile, educational and they look absolutely stunning. They can be used for home decor, school projects, table centrepieces, vases, gardening, or just some good old fashioned crafty fun. Super-absorbent polymer looks like crystal soiland goes by many names which are all essentially the same thing, a small hydrogel that can absorb up to 99.8% of liquid. The main differences between beads found on the market are their initial size and synthetic makeup. At Water Beads Australia we only supply non-toxic and biodegradable polymer. Water beads bulk orders are also available.
Water beads (Orbeez) are about 100 times smaller than this when you receive them 🙂
Leave beads in water for 8 hours and presto, your magic water beads are ready.
What are water beads (Orbeez)?
Water beads (Orbeez) are a super-absorbent polymer. Ours are biodegradable, non-toxic and colourfast. They’re about the size of a pinhead when dry, and can expand up to 100 times their original size after absorbing water!
How do I use water beads (Orbeez)?
All our water beads come in 10g sachets. Simply soak the contents of one sachet in 1.5 L of water for roughly 8 hours – overnight is perfect – and voila! Your once tiny beads are now the size of marbles and are ready for use.
We love adding them to vases and centrepieces to create unique decor for the home, or events like weddings and birthday shindigs. There are other uses for water beads, though, such as adding them to your garden soil to assist with keeping your plants and flowers hydrated, or as a sensory tool for children.
Please note: Our product is not a toy. We recommend strict adult supervision should you choose to use water beads for sensory purposes with children, as they can be a serious choking hazard.
Caution!:Some online shops suggest they have tens of thousands of beads in small packs (eg. 10grams) which is a blatant lie. They are trying to scam people. The most reliable way to purchase is by total weight.
Are Water Gel Balls and Water Beads the same thing?
Yes. Water beads and water gel balls both use a superabsorbent polymer to expand to around 100 times their original size. They are also known as water crystals, water balls, gel balls, water marbles, crystal soil and magic fairy beads.
Are we really "Australia’s cheapest water beads"?
Yes, at the time of writing this we are not aware of any online shop based in Australia, that holds Australian stock with water beads cheaper than ours. And if you find a product at a cheaper price we’ll match it (please see T&C’s for price match details).
Based purely on sales the colours that we ship most frequently are clear, purple, turquoise, blue, red and pink. However, the most beautiful colour in our opinion is turquoise – it looks absolutely stunning!
What shipping options do we have?
We send all orders via Australia Post. Choose from regular post at a flat rate of $1.90, or Express Post at a flat rate of $9.95. Place your order by 11.00am on a business day and it’ll be posted out the same day.
Are Orbeez the same as water beads?
Orbeez are a registered brand that create polymer products, often referred to as water beads. At Water Beads Australia, Orbeez are often requested by our customers, but this specific brand is not available. We do however sell polymer products that have an identical appearance.
