Water beads make it easy to put together a Christmas table that looks styled without much effort. Fill a few vases, add candles or greenery, and the table is done. Here are four ideas using our Christmas colours, clear beads and Instant Snow.
Idea 1: Red and green layered vases
Soak a Christmas Pack (Red and Green) separately by colour, then layer them in a tall cylinder vase: a band of green, a band of red, then green again. Top with a sprig of pine, eucalyptus or holly. For bigger tables, the 500g Premium Christmas Pack gives you enough for several vases.
Idea 2: Floating candles over clear beads
Fill a glass bowl two-thirds with Clear Water Beads, add water, and float red or white candles on top. Tuck a few red beads in for colour. Our floating candle guide has the step-by-step.
Idea 3: A white Christmas centrepiece
Mix White Waterbeads and clear beads in a low vase, then scatter Instant Snow around the base of the vase on a tray. It gives a snowy look that suits an Australian summer Christmas without needing a real fire or cold weather. More ideas in our fake snow guide.
Idea 4: Bauble jars
Fill small jars with red, green or clear beads and sit a bauble on top of each. Run them down the table or use them as place settings.
Getting the timing right
Soak beads for about 8 hours or overnight before you style them. Set vases up a day or two before Christmas lunch. With water top-ups they stay looking good for about 2 to 3 weeks, so a table set in mid December will last past Boxing Day.
Christmas order dates
Order by Saturday 19 December 2026 for delivery before Christmas. Regular shipping is free on all orders, and Express Post is a flat $10. If you are in WA or the NT, order earlier, as Australia Post's last dates are earlier there.
Safety
Not a toy. Keep away from children and pets. Swallowed beads can cause a blockage. If swallowed, call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26.
